Do a seated, tucked fitting
Button the shirt and sit at a desk. Reach toward a keyboard and bring your arms forward. Check for pulling between buttons and across the upper back. A shirt can look neat with your arms by your sides yet become distracting in the position you will occupy for most of the workday.
Tuck it into the trousers you will bring. Stand, sit, and reach again to see whether the hem stays where you want it. Additional length can help a tucked shirt, but an overly long shirt can create unwanted bulk. Is a merino button-front shirt automatically non-iron?
No. Look for exact garment instructions and claims. Merino content alone does not establish a crease-free finish or permission to steam or iron at any temperature.
Can I wear a merino office shirt untucked?
If its hem length and shape suit that use and the setting allows it. Shirts intended for tucking may hang longer than you want when worn loose.
