Smartwool Merino Shirts

Smartwool’s everyday crews and active tops answer different wardrobe needs. Start by choosing the cut and use, then compare the fabric in that particular model.

Inside the range

The Perfect Crew uses a 50% merino and 50% organically grown cotton fabric with a standard fit. The Merino Short Sleeve instead uses 88% merino and 12% recycled nylon in a slim fit. Its nylon-core construction does not make the whole shirt 100% wool, even when a description emphasizes wool against the skin. Those are useful distinctions when choosing between a casual tee and a closer layer.

For long sleeves, the Classic All-Season crew provides a documented 150 g/m² option. Keep it separate from Classic Thermal rather than treating both names as the same shirt. Older Merino Sport 120 styles and Active Ultralite tops also appear here; use the individual product details where composition or density remains unconfirmed. Match a replacement to its style code before relying on measurements or fabric information from another Smartwool generation.
