An explicit GSM figure describes fabric mass per square meter, not an opacity score. Yarn, construction, color, and fit also matter. Use the fabric-weight guide to understand the number without treating it as a promise that skin or underwear will be invisible.
Photos with a white studio background, styled underlayers, or dark colors may not answer your question about a pale shirt. Look for a front and back view of the exact color. Reviews can identify a concern to check, but another person's lighting and preferred fit will differ from yours.

- Check whether the model is wearing a visible camisole or base layer.
- Look for an intended-use description: standalone tee and layering top are different expectations.
